We direct primarily three styles of dances:
Salsa - a show dance with many turn patterns done on high tempo music. This dance requires precise timing and control.
Tango - danced in either open embrace, where the leader and follower connect at arms length, or in closed embrace, where the leader and follower connect chest to chest.
Bachata - a close dance, which combines elements of precise timing control and sensuality.
What we do:
- Help you figure out the kind of dance required - the context.
- Help you with song selection.
- Help you discover the hits and breaks in the music.
- Help you express yourself to the different parts of the song
Verse - sections of the song have basically identical music and different lyrics
Chorus - Chorus is used to mean the refrain of a song, which often sharply contrasts the verse melodically, rhythmically, and harmonically, and assumes a higher level of dynamics and activity, often with added instrumentation.
Vocal Runs - A Vocal Run is a melismatic variation on the chorus of a song. It is mostly used at the end or beginning of a song and adds a new layer to a chorus.
